Makutchen organics was born in 2013 after our own personal healing journey using fermented foods and drinks along with a change in diet and focus on our lives.
The main focus was on gut health where as Hipprocrates said 1000’s of years ago…”all disease begins in the gut”… and “Food is medicine”. It is also where improved health begins.
It was 6 months after this tradition of a new diet regime of eating fresh foods, bone broths, fermented foods and drinks, cutting down on sugar, procesessed foods and wheat products
that we noticed a dramatic change in general physical and mental health. Discovering the power of fermented foods such as fermented vegetables and drinks such as kombucha tea and keffir lead us to wanting to share these products with friends, practitioners and colleagues in the alternative health industry.
As the knowledge of the importance of gut health grew and continues to do so, the demand for our products increased. By 2014 we moved the business form a cottage industry to a commercial premises to keep up with the demand.
This knowledge was also passed on to family in NZ and makutchen Organics NZ was born and quickly turned into a thriving business as in Australia.
